Saudi classical piano competition is a classical music competition open for all piano artists residing inside Saudi Arabia and Bahrain regardless of their nationality. Saudi citizens are particularly encouraged to participate as they will shape music landscape of the country by becoming concert pianists, music teachers and musicians who will influence the next generation.

About SCPC 2026

In the arid landscapes of Saudi Arabia, where a new generation of aspiring pianists is growing ready to enter the international stage and establish themselves as Saudi very first wave of piano performance artists, we offer the first in history classical piano music competition. This piano competition will celebrate local talent originating from Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and attract more attention to our rapidly developing music industry. Let this classical music competition serve as a strong foundation into the building of our Kingdom’s bright musical future.

Saudi classical piano competition is open for all piano artists residing inside Saudi Arabia and Bahrain regardless of their nationality (however, residence in either country is required to enter the competition, for example, a resident of UAE cannot apply and participate in this competition unless he/she is citizen of either KSA or Bahrain). Saudi citizens are particularly encouraged to participate as they will shape music landscape of the country by becoming concert pianists, music teachers and musicians who will influence the next generation.

This competition is a growing platform bringing together pianists from 2 GCC countries: KSA and Bahrain to encourage local talent growth and to start taking leading places in other international competitions. 

Our Mission

The Saudi Classical Piano Competition is a celebration of western classical music and its legacy in GCC. It promotes local talent, attracts new audiences, and inspires lasting passion for classical music among future generations. 

Who Can Participate

This competition is open for any citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia & Bahrain without age restriction. We invite all qualifying participants to apply on this website and to support the growing interest in classical music. Please, use our guidelines to determine which group you should compete in. Remember that all pianists under 7 years old compete in Young Pianist group. All pianists between 7 and 19 years old should compete in appropriate to their skill level group from A to D. All adults of 19 years old and over should apply and compete in either Amateur Intermediate and Amateur Advanced group. If you have doubts about which group you should compete in, please contact us via email and explain your situation to help us find your appropriate group and avoid unfortunate disqualification due to improper placement. 

Participants Requirements

Participants of the competition are divided into 7 groups based on their level of experience in piano and age. Make sure you evaluate your level of expertise correctly (the number of years actively learning piano) or ask your teacher to guide you into the correct group based on your skill level. To reiterate, all pianists under 7 years old compete in Young Pianist group. All pianists between 7 and 19 years old should compete in appropriate to their skill level group from A to D. All adults of 19 years old and over should apply and compete in either Amateur Intermediate or Amateur Advanced group. If you have doubts about which group you should compete in, please contact us via email and explain your situation to help us find your appropriate group and avoid unfortunate disqualification due to improper placement.

  • Group Young Pianist. Competitors under 7 years old and under ABRSM grade 3. 
  • Group A. (Beginner) Competitors under 12 years old and under ABRSM grade 3 with under 1.5 years of active piano experience 
  • Group B. (Early intermediate) Competitors under 14 years old and between ABRSM grade 3 and 5 with between 1.5 and 3 years of active piano experience 
  • Group C. (Late intermediate) Competitors under 17 years old and between ABRSM grade 4 and 7 with between 3 and 5 years of active piano experience  
  • Group D. (Advanced). Competitors under 19 years old and above ABRSM grade 5 with more than 5 years of active piano experience 
  • Group Amateur Intermediate. Competitors of any age above 19 years old and with under 3 years of active piano experience. 
  • Group Amateur Advanced. Competitors of any age above 19 years old and with over 3 years of active piano experience. 

Winners Recognition and Prizes

In addition to medals and certificates, the finalists will get the following cash prizes:
1st Prize (laureate) in each group: SAR 3000
2nd Prize in each group: SAR 500
3rd Prize in each group: SAR 300
Teacher of laureate (1st Prize winner) : Honorary gift

Rounds of Competition

Explore the powerful stories of individuals whose musical journeys were changed by our initiatives.

Preliminary Round

All applicants who completed the form and paid the non-refundable fee will perform two pieces live before the jury at Music Hub Khobar on the specified date: one required piece (per group) and one piece of choice from the list of options. The two pieces must be performed without repeat signs to save time. Performances may be from memory or sheet music. 3 top performers will be selected at the end of this round to advance to the final round.

Final Round

This round will take place at Music Hub Khobar the day after the preliminary round. All selected participants will perform live in front of the jury and a ticketed audience, presenting the same repertoire they played during the preliminary round. Performances can be from memory or with sheet music, and no extra credit will be given based on the choice.

This round serves as the final stage of the contest, where the participants will have one last opportunity to showcase their musicality, technique, and stage presence. Following all performances, the jury will deliberate and determine the laureates, awarding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes. The award ceremony will take place immediately after this round.
